LETS GO THROUGH THE BASIC RULES  OF VISITING CRETE

RULE #1: Talk To The Locals

Crete is famous for its hospitality and the warm welcome of the locals. If you have a tourist guide with you or not, it doesn't matter; don't hesitate to talk to the locals and ask them about anything that comes to mind about the area. In case they don't speak English, give them a smile and ask the next one on your way. Always be friendly and warm-hearted, just like the locals are.

Rule # 2: Don't Stick To Your Hotel Room

Is there anything more annoying than a traveler who spent his holidays inside his hotel? No it's not .I mean, I get it. You are on holidays, and you want to relax. You came from your stressful daily routine to calm and recharge, but believe us, that's not happening through sleeping or staying at your fancy private pool all day long. It does not matter how beautiful your hotel is, and please don't book a full meal plan; you are missing half the fun. Did you really travel across the world to stay inside a room and then move to a hotel restaurant just to eat the same food you would eat anywhere?
Go out, walk around the streets, and find a place that's delivering good vibes to you. Most of the time, you won't even need a reservation, although it's always good to have one. Try the local cuisine and dishes, and believe us, you will be amazed by the taste of them. Crete is famous for its local Mediterranean cuisine. It does not really matter what your budget is; you will always be able to find what fits you the most.

Rule # 3: Do What You Normally Wouldn't

TNow that you had your dinner at a local restaurant and met and talked with people from Crete, it was time to go crazy. Crete has plenty of activities that you just can't miss.

Quad Safari

Boating

Aquadive

Watersports of any kind

That's just a few of them. Don't miss out on the chance to create memories and live in the moment.

Is It Safe To Travel To Crete?

We know that plenty of people when traveling aboard are worried about their safety. Well, we are glad to let you know that in Crete, there is nothing to worry about. Early in the morning or late in the night, it doesn't matter. As long as you are not provacating then everything should run smoothly for you.

Crete Can't be Perfect Right?

Like everything and everyone, Crete is not perfect. We have to let you know about the downside it. . So here some important things to keep in mind:

I) Public transportation

Although there is plenty of different bus lines to anywhere its extremely overcrowded, especially during summer months, while plenty of times the state of the bus would be far from perfect.

II)Road Network

You will find the road system and the behavior of the local drivers challenging, at least. The road system is pretty old, and you will be forced to go through lots of curves and bumps while the local drivers have a special ''authority'' on the road and will probably force you to move aside. If you are not feeling sure for your driving skills we wouldn't suggest you to rent a car. Police though is friendly, they won't stop you for no reason  and when they do stop you they wil propably write you a ticket and off you go , police brutality isn't a thing here.

III) Heraklion Airport is a mess.

It's the one that gets the most attention, and that makes things even worse. If you are coming to Crete through Heraklion Airport then you will be amazed how a place so tiny can actually host millions of tourists and thousands of flights. So try to be there 2hours before your departure so you can be sure that everything will run smoothly and you will not face any last minute challenges.

Many people ask, What do Cretans do during the winter?

Well, you should know that Crete is famous for its extra virgin olive oil production, so a lot of us are farmers. Of course, the farm industry is very popular in Crete as well, and you will find any kind of vegetable and fruit. In addition, Crete produces lots and lots of wine, with some very iconic wineries in Crete located around Heraklion. If you are a wine lover, then visiting a winery and seeing with your own eyes how things work down here would be time well spent.

At any case if you intersted of buying some greek olive oil here is a great place to do so:

-Where should I stay during my holidays in Crete?

There is not a proper answer to that. Crete is a very big island, and it is famous for its versatility. What type of traveler are you? Are you here for romantic holidays with your date? Are you here with your big family and kids, or are you here to have fun and party until early in the morning? That and many more have to be answered so we can suggest the perfect place for you.

-When is the best time to visit Crete?

If you prefer a quieter and less crowded experience, consider visiting in May or September when the temperatures are still pleasant and the sea is still calm, but the crowds have thinned out. Regardless of when you choose to visit, be sure to pack sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water to stay protected from the sun.

-What's the top activity that we shouldn't miss while we are staying in Crete?

As we said before, it depends on who you are traveling with and in what area of Crete you are staying, so sadly, we cannot answer that for you yet.

-What's the best way to go around Crete?

If you feel comfortable driving in a foreign country, then rent a car; if not, then book a taxi. Taxi services in Crete are at the highest level. Most of the time, you will get a luxurious car and a gentle driver. Don't hesitate to ask him about anything; he will provide you with great information about the area that you are heading to, and we can say for sure that you will feel safe and comfortable.
